Islam a brief introduction

 Islam — “submission” in Arabic— is a major world religion that was founded by the Prophet Muhammad (570-632 CE) during the 7th century. Yet, today this is the religion of over 1.9 billion people worldwide — known as Muslims because they ethically subscribe to peace and submission to God (i.e., Islam) with all its rules that emphasize diverse social values.StatusBadRequest The very name Islam means submission to the will of Allah, which it is accepted as God in Arabic.

Core Beliefs and Practices

There are five pillars of Islam which form the basic foundation of a Muslim's life and action.

Shahada (Profession of Faith): The belief that there is no god but God, and Muhammad was his final messenger.

Salah (Prayer): Five daily prayers to bond believers with Allah and put their hearts.

Hence, Zakat (Charity): Sharing wealth with the needed and to nurture social accountability.
